does it support MSATA? if so you could buy a MSATA ssd drive and keep the spinning platter drive. I have a V570 with that setup and it is super fast.

Hi Wasi,
look through 'Y460 Hardware Maintenance Manual V1.0', mechanical layout and most modules are identical to Y460p...

Hi Zehn
Thanks again for ur time and help appreciated. Well few websites who sell y460p stated that it does support Msata ssd and it has both Drivers on lappy Msata sdd + HDD. But as per Lenovo IdeaPad Y460 Hardware Maintenance Manual V1.0 i dont see any thing stating about Msata ssd or Msata slot.
have a look at this site
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/intel-ssd-310-
its say it does support Msata ssd in these models y460p , y560 and y560p

Hi Wasi,
this is what I found on page 81 of Y460 HMM, problem is, there is no HMM for Y460p/Y560p models available.
SSD, Samsung MMDPE64GEDXP-MVB mSATA 64G, 16004558
SSD, Samsung MMCRE32GEDXP-MVB mSATA 32G, 16004557
It all seems rather complicated and fairly half-hearted to me, even heard rumor about a Lenovo white-list but not sure,
how about replacing the HDD with a big full-sized 2.5" SSD and use the HDD as external drive ?
just my two cents... Zehn
