Wait as long as you possibly can, I have seen laptops
that will not work correctly (usually keyboard) after 1-3 days
work after a week sitting and drying.
Search the web for "Liquid spilled on laptop" for lots of tips.
(You probably have done this already!)
In my opinion, you almost have to dis-assemble and check
for liquid infiltration. At least remove the keyboard.
And the keyboard is the most likely part
to be damaged, of course.

After letting it sit for ~12 hours I put the battery back in and turned it on. Working like I didn't do anything to it at all. All keys functional and touchpad works like a dream.
