Computer Stuck in One Key Recovery mode

This morning I went to turn on my computer like every other day but the start up screen was weird and it entered One Key Recovery. I did not activate this program, I did not press the button, I had no need for it. I tried rebooting and restarting the system and it does not turn off all the way and it when it restarts it goes back into the One Key Recovery screen.

I did not format my computer. I have a feeling the button to turn activate One Key Recovery is stuck. Tell me what I can do to turn my computer on normally.

One Key Recovery doesn't have an exit option. It just restarts in the same mode.

What are some other reasons as to why this could have happened?

as you said possible okr button is stuck and could be power cord issue. can you try this? : remove tha battery and unplug the ac power, press okr button a little bit harder but not too hard.

replace the battery and check if the power button works.

I have tried those things yesterday. I have ran back ups all day yesterday and this morning the computer turned on ok but the OKR program now keeps on wanting to start on my screen. It is possible that it could be something with the power cord. Maybe some dust or something go into it. It's pretty annoying. I guess the button should be in a different spot on the computer.

my personal opinion, all the symptoms point that is hardware ( power cord ) issue and at this point there's nothing i can do instead suggesting you to call lenovo support line for further informations and replacement.

yeah, it's all fine and dandy but it's out of warranty now. **bleep** it.

it definitely has something to do with the power cord.

i wonder if it is possible to remove the OKR program. If the button had no program to activate, maybe it wouldn't matter.

yes, you can.

you'll just need to burn linux dvd. after, change boot order and start-up your computer without installing the linux (preview mode -live cd mode) then, you'll need to shrink the c volume, it will cause okr stops so you'll be able to start up your computer by pressing okr button.
