Yeah, I have OKR 7.0.0723 installed and everything is working great. As I said I've installed Windows 7 Home Premium x64 and resized the partitions (without deleting OEM partition) and everything works just fine.

Re: Disk Partioning and OneKey Recovery Feature

Mark, this would be great if it wasn't for the huge amount of disk space that Vista consumes with its updates. My computer crashed when Vista was installing a huge update - it ran out of space on the C: drive. Lenovo needs to make the C: partition larger.  Prior to this problem I was aware that my C: disk was nearly full, so I was installing other applications on my D: partition together with my data, something I didn't want to do.

I have now enlarged my C: partition so that all my applications are kept here and all my data on D:.  As a result, (as you have carefully pointed out), the Novo restore key will no longer work. This is not a problem to me, because who wants to go to factory presets when you have a dozen other applications besides Windows to worry about!?  What is a problem to me however, is that in my new setup Vista no longer seems able to create restore points of the C: drive although it is set up to do so.  Is it still looking for the original, invisible service partition?  What can I do about this?

Fortunately, I do have another application (System Suite 10) which does create restore points for me, but the question remains - "Why won't Vista do it anymore?"

Looking for answers - Phil

Re: Disk Partioning and OneKey Recovery Feature

You may have to do a system repair.  Tap F8 while rebooting to enter the Safe Mode menu and select the System Repair option at the top.  You may also try the restore from here as well.

Re: Disk Partitioning and OneKey Recovery Feature

[ Edited ]

I have bought a y560 with core i5 and 500 GB HDD. I can see following partitions under Disk Mgmt.

C: drive :420 GB

D: drive (Names LENOVO): 30.4 GB

OEM partition, 14.75 GB

I have following queries.

1. Does recovery restores C: drive and thats why all personal data is lost which is kept on C:?

2. Doest same happens to D: drive in recovery or this remains as it is.

3. I want to resize the partitions in following fashion

           C: 70 GB ( 20 GB of windows 7 (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/get/system-requirements.aspx) and

                 rest for other software installations)

D: 130 GB for personal data including drive lenovo

E: 220 for which I can use to partion later.

I have taken back up on DVDs. I dont want to keep data on C: drive

I want that in case of recovery only C: drive should be restored leaving D : & E:

Kindly tell me how this can be achived. Thanks

Re: Disk Partitioning and OneKey Recovery Feature

- recovery effects only c volume if you select full recovery.

- before partition, i suggest you to burn recovery dvds.

- you can resize only c volume ( divide two parts ) and you can use the new part for personal files.

- as i know, one key recover 6.0 doesn't work if you resize your volumes. but as i read one key recover 7.0 works even if you resize volumes. for more information you can search the forum or check your manual

Re: Disk Partioning and OneKey Recovery Feature

I installed fresh Windows 7 on Y510, but One Key is still functioning and can damage the new installation. How do I remove hidden partition with Vista and disable One key  restore button.

Thank you

Re: Disk Partioning and OneKey Recovery Feature

@ leon1989

do you want to disable one key recover permanently?

as i read, you can update hidden partition for windows 7, and whenever you press one key recover, it may restore windows 7 instead of vista.
