My Y560 w/ATI 5730 displays certain shades of gray really grainy, almost as if the pixels were replaced with static. Anyone else have this problem?

nm, fixed in catalyst control center by monkeying with the gamma, brightness and contrast

Can you post a screen capture of your Catalyst Control Center settings?
I have the same problem.
You can just use some site like: http://imageshack.us/
Thanks!

Never mind, problem came back, I read another post that says it has something to do with the monitor, which makes sense, considering the big mouse bug I've been experiencing also only happens on the main monitor (and not on external when I have one plugged in)

When you say "problem with the monitor", you mean this topic:

What about the mouse? What's wrong?

the mouse cursor randomly gets really large, and won't go back to normal unless I change the resolution

And how about your screen problem... is the one I send you on the link?

I think I'll send my notebook on tuesday to the Warranty Service in order to get that fix.
But I'm in doubt to send it now to the Service, because I'm here in Argentina and the problem wasn't reported solved even in USA...

I'm another guy that has the whole 'grainy gray' or 'shimmering pixel' problem. Additionaly, I also have the 'huge mouse cursor' problem. It only happened to me once (but I've only had the laptop for a few days before I sent it in to warranty repair for the screen). Restarting fixed the problem, but I'm not convinced that it won't happen again. I was reading on another thread that it has something to do with the ATI video card and drivers. This Y560 is horribly buggy for such an expensive laptop.
