Have had major problems with this and it's doing my head in...
So, the background:
Bought a new Ideapad Z570 from UK early August, we bought the extended 3 years warranty with the laptop. Great looking laptop, won best in class from PC Pro and so on. Thought I'd got the perfect laptop for work and play. However, after working fine for 3 days my wife and I then flew to NZ with it in my hand luggage all the way. It then stopped working, won't switch on, nada. Pretty annoyed, highest spec laptop I've bought and it's knackered. I wish the 5 year old Dell inspiron was still with me...at least it switched on.
Tried everything, hard resets and so on and eventually after ringing supplier in UK and Lenovo UK they suggested getting it checked by independent repairman who found that the motherboard needed replacing. Sweet.
Lenovo said they would collect the laptop and repair it in Auckland (great we thought...) and send it back under our current warranty, but since then they cancelled the courier and it has been like getting blood out of a stone. They have left us for weeks and weeks saying that they are sourcing the motherboard from Australia, meanwhile leaving us in the lurch with no laptop. Was promised callbacks to update me, emails and so on. Nothing.
Why does it take so long to get something sent from one place to another, if you know what you need why not send it asap? Why have I been promised callbacks 3 times and no one has bothered? Really amazes me. I am now loathe to recommend anyone to Lenovo, I had such high hopes for you, but your support and customer care is frankly rubbish. You have not understood how annoying and how much time and money I've wasted in trying to get this resolved. I have no laptop. I am stuck here typing this at work. I need this problem rectified asap!
Can anyone help?! I don't have my case number on me right now as I'm forced to write this at work, but will have it in a few hours time if that helps.
Thank you.
