Hard drive swap error.

A friend recently let me have his, almost brand new, Lenovo B575-1450 and I wanted to switch out my old laptops hdd with this ones. They're both Western Digital 320GB versions but when I put the old one in the Lenovo when booting Windows XP a blue screen pops up for a split second then it goes to the "boot in safe" mode screen and it does the same for safe mode as well. Not sure what the problem is here, because the old hard drive works with the old laptop and this laptop works with the new one and they're exactly the same.

Did you re-install windows on the drive you are trying to swap?

Is the hard drive from the same model laptop?

Normally you can't just swap drives between different computers,
you must re-install windows.

Also, for installing win xp you need to change the hard drive sata
mode in bios to ide or compatible in the bios before install.
