Headphone microphone problem on Z570

Hello,

 

I recently bought an Ideapad Z570 laptop and I am encountering the following problem:

 

If I insert my headphones into the pink slot, the computer recognizes it  but no sound is recorded by it. First I've installed the drivers provided by the CD in the package, then I've installed the drivers provided by the website. Nothing changed. I've checked if it's muted somehow in the sound management from windows. I've even selected the option from realtek hd audio manager for separate imputs. Nothing worked. Even let windows get it's own drivers. 

I am running a Windows 7 Proffesional x64 edition.
