IdeaPad Y510 sleep mode

my question is that when the closing/tilting (not shutdown) the screen the computer goes into sleep mode how do i change this setting?

In control panel there's an opton - "power managment" , where you can adjust your settings for computer behaviour in different situations - on pressing the button/being inactive/closing the lid.

I am having trouble with my Y710 on Win.XP ..in sleep mode when I shut my lid the notebook
does what its suppose to... but when the lid is open again the notebook fires up like normal
but....the Lcd screen shows a black screen and stays that way untill i manually
shut the notebook down and turn it back on via the power button then all is good..any ideas on a fix...
I did try every single thing for power management but nothing worked..maybe its a bios thing?

Question? Does the Y510 bios update work on the Y710 with windows XP...
or is that idea a No Go? Not a Big deal but its  very aggravating always restarting the laptop
every single time you open the Lid from Sleep mode!...

Well, sounds like VERY bad idea. Especially keeping in mind that this can end seriosly - in service center, reviving the BIOS. It's not a thing to joke with.
Until some dude makes it and either says it's OK or either cries for unrecoverable system.
I do not recommend doing that - leave it for it's own for now.

Sorry, I thought you have y510 laptop(because the forum thread is about it). Skripatch is wright... But I doubt that the install program will permit you doing that.
