Do you happen to have driver advice for the Ideapad Y480 series?
The tech guys here told me to update my nividia drivers from lenovo. And what ended up happening was that it created even more lag for me! I also know what you mean about installing their cpu drivers making the computer sluggish!, should I just download those drivers direct from Intel support.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Nope, nVIDIA hasn't even released drivers for the 640m for notebooks yet if you check their website.
Strange how a company released a GPU with no official drivers yet

Hi, I just have one question..
You changed the order for wifi..
is that mean it is okay to install the wifi first then activate window and update window?
i am just wondering, since I tried to do the clean install last time, I failed miserably since I formated every driver(C, D)..
because I had no internet connection, so I needed to download it with desktop and move it with usb, but i installed wifi first.
but got stuck on the intel hd graphic driver while it keep saying access denied, system does not meet minimum requirement....etc
well I got it back with the onekey recovery system..
idk why, my boot option is f12.. not esc. maybe my laptop is a little weird.. (i have same model as yours.. i think)
anyway is it okay to install the wifi first then activate and update window?
because i kept checking on updates when i did it but I didn't see any microsoft framework v4...
I just want to make sure this time.
I am going to try one more time if activating and updating windows after installing the wifi driver is okay thing to do.
because my laptop wasn't able to get connected to wifi or any internet after the format and installation of window.
o one more thing..should i turn off the wifi mouse and wifi device on the laptop(next to the switch for gpu) before reinstall the window?

Yes I changed it it because WiFi doesn't matter when you install it.
So I put it it in the beginning because I need to activate Windows then install the Updates (DO NOT INSTALL ANY DRIVER UPDATES)
BTW, the Microsoft .net Framework only appears at the end after you install all the updates at first.
Anyway, I never install it from Windows update, you can install it manually from: Download Microsft .net Framework (Standalone Installer)
And you don't need to turn off anything even though I don't know what you mean by WiFi Mouse

oops.. i meant wireless mouse.. my bad.
I'll install the WIFI first then activate and update window..(going to do it in few days, no DVD R right now)
for now, I am going to use the intel hd driver on this thread to check if i can get rid of the stuttering problem in town for dragon nest..
anyway Thank you ! ![]()

Hello!
Thanks for this awesome list, I was looking for an updated audio driver and I found this. It's very helpful. I checked my drivers against these and I have to tell you that for there's a new Intel HD Graphics Driver. The version is 8.15.10.2696 and it was released on 19-Mar-2012. I install it via Windows Updates.
Thanks again, and keep up the good work.
