Re: Ideapad U & Y Series Shipping Discussion (2010)

I've had an awful experience ordering my Y560. First thing, Lenovo got my email address wrong. I've called and emailed several times because I have yet to recieve an email confirmation of my purchase. I am promised one, but here it is a week later, and still... no confirmation.

When I look at my order status, I see the wrong computer listed. I have been told verbally the correct laptop is coming, but I cannot get an order number or email to confirm this. This week, the Y560 went on sale, and a floor manager (yes, I got to talk to one-- I was insistent-- I got an updated order number-- but is still the wrong laptop) told me all I needed to do was get a "quote number" and telephone customer service with that number. But of course, my "updated" order number doesn't match the computer I ordered, so they can't give me the "price match."

So here I am, a week later, with no idea which laptop I am getting. When I call customer service, they still have the incorrect email address on file even though they have told me they have corrected it. I haven't gotten an updated, correct order number, nor any promised email confirmations.

When I called customer service today, they said they would call me back before closing, but here it is closing time and they haven't called back. I have called and emailed several times this week, but I cannot get a consistent answer from anyone.

Am I going to get the right computer or not? Am I going to get the price match I was promised? I don't know.

Can I get anything in writing? Apparently not.

So far, Lenovo is all "promises" and no "delivery."

Frankly, I'm afraid now of my Lenovo purchase. If I need tech support, is it too going to be like this?

Re: Ideapad U & Y Series Shipping Discussion (2010) Options

[ Edited ]

Hello,

My father bought a Y560 Ideapad a few days ago...three, I think. The shipping date got pushed back to the 23rd, which I'm okay with...

It's just that I've been reading the horror stories about shipping, so I'm a litte nervous. Can anyone tell me what the normal shipping time is for the Y560 laptop?

Re: Ideapad U & Y Series Shipping Discussion (2010)

Does anyone know the average time it takes for a Y560 takes to ship? I had one ordered for me a few days ago and the date's already been pushed back...I've gotten worried.

Re: Ideapad U & Y Series Shipping Discussion (2010) Options

Lenovo's website says "Ships within 5 bus. days**" or "9 bus days**" depending on which model Y560 you ordered. I'm not sure about shipping times, though; normally shipping takes another 3-5 days, I think.

If you look at the top of the Lenovo.com webpage, there is a link for "Order Status." It is located right after My Account and Cart. You will need your customer number and order number to check your order status. It should also tell you the expected shipping date.

Note to Lenovo: It's too bad one can't simply enter their customer number and see *all* the orders one has outstanding and an order history.
