For the U350 I would recommend to unplug the fan. Passive cooling works really well. Last night I had to restart my machine after an update, and it stayed at ~40 degrees for a couple of hours. Temperatures when using my comp on my lap doesn't feel uncomfortable at all.

Lenovo has released the first official BIOS update for U350 at last. Now I can modify BIOS to spin down the fan at idle.
Is there anybody who wish to test this BIOS mod?
Please post your replies to this thread. I don't want to answer in several U350 fan-related threads.

You have to download and install Middleton's modded bios. You can find the link a few posts back in this thread. There are no settings; it'll just work.

Hi,
I have a problem with u350 after bios update.
I have Windows 7 64 bit but is not started. After start load, appears blue screen
I know that befor bios update my disc:
1. only for system
2. C - Windows
3. D - other files
now is like this:
1. C - only for system
2. D - other files
3. E - Windows
I was try use partdisk but after restart settings is not save.
Maybe it is a another problem - not only disk number.

Hello, where can I download the new BIOS and the procedures for updating? Since the release is official should have the file on the lenovo site, correct?
Thanks!
