Ideapad Y430 278187U Running Hot!!!

I just got my Ideapad Y430 278187U.  Just to the right of the touchpad, it is almost unbearable to keep my hand on the handrest.  It is running very very hot.   The left side is just fine, but the right side is horrible.  I almost can't take typing on this keyboard because of it.  It is also hot on the bottom of the computer in the same spot.  It is hot here just sitting on my wood table with clear ventilation.  What is the deal?  Is this normal?

This doesn't seem to be OK. Y430 should be warm but not more than that.

What is your room temperature?

I've got the Y430-278189U and it is warm to the touch just right of the touchpad.  Even on high performance after playing a game for awhile, it is still only slightly warm and nothing that makes using the notebook unpleasant.

I also leave my Y430 on all day and it has never been noticably hot to the touch anywhere.

I think you have something wrong with your Y430.

Yeah, I got an RMA and sent the Y430 back.  I was still within my 21 day return period.  The only problem is Lenovo gave me an extremely hard time trying to exchange this machine for the same thing at the same price.  $568.XX. It is now $200.00 more.  The sales department is in the USA, but the returns department is in India, so, you have to work with both to get a return set up and to re-book your new one.  So, if you ever have to do an exchange, plan on spending 2 days on the phone in various phone calls.  I ordered the new exact model, and it will not be shipped for 2 weeks..yay.

You could always open her up and try to fix it yourself. I would suggest correcting the TIM application- as that is the location of the CPU.
