Ideapad Y460p random freezing issue

Hey guys. I really need some help here. My laptop is currently at the technician's side for the third time this year.

I guess there's no need for specs here. So, im just gonna explain my situation here.

1st repair, the technician changed the CPU. and tested overnight, calling me the next day to collect my laptop as the issue is fixed.

2nd repair, i waited for around 4-5 weeks for just a BIOS update ( it's rediculous to wait so long so such a small file isn't it.. ), as the technician told me that there was no solution to this freezing issue in my laptop ( around 2-3 week ). Upon collection, technician told me to observe the laptop and see if the issue still persists.

3rd repair ( currently still accessing my laptop ), technicial called me in the afternoon and said that, my laptop successfully passed all the tests that he did to check for faulty parts.

* note that before the first repair, i did a one key recovery as i thought it was a virus attack.

Anyone has any solution to my problem ? they already took out my 3rd party ram and it's still under testing. argh.

Do you happen to know how any of the technissions tested the laptop. My guess is they booted into a different os to test it. The issue could be coming from windows. You might try and do a fresh install of windows.

Re: Ideapad Y460p random freezing issue

so sorry for the late reply. I did a clean installation before the first repair as mentioned. They have currently solved the freezing issue, by changing the motherboard but another problem has appeared. Yesterday, i took my laptop back as it was ready for collection. went home, played a game on it, the screen blanked out after a while. plain black screen. after around 10-20 seconds, it showed me a blue screen with words. guess the laptop is doing some dumping of files. after the next boot, a popup mentioning that ' amd driver has crashed , system recovered successfully ' . since my laptop is holding onto a ati card, it should be a graphic hardware problem now..
