Ideapad Z470 - Abnormal behavior with WinXP 32/64 bit

Hi All,

I’ve experienced the following problems from the first day with my Ideapad Z470 machine,

I’ve tried Windows XP 32 bit and later moved to x64 edition.

1)      The machine is sometimes got frozen with the first screen of WinXP upon booting and/or rebooting, so that power button is the way to try again and again till opening.

2)      The machine is too slow as compared with other machines having 2.1GHz and 4GB DDR3, so that, all startup programs and services takes too much time to be loaded after desktop loading.

3)      The opening sound followed by the welcome screen is too noisy and not sustainable, even though after installing the most recent audio driver.

4)      With Windows 7; my machine is no longer hanging but still somehow slow.

I just prefer using WinXP Professional x64 edition, so please help and advice.

hi mromega.

lenovo doesn't provide 64 bit drivers for xp so this could be the reason. but it should wok without no issue and shouldn't be slow under windows 7. can you run disk scan to check the disk?
