Ideapad y460p w/ RapidDrive. Will recovery DVDs use SSD?

Hello,

I have purchased a ideapad y460p some time ago and I'm very satisfied.  To prepare for the future I have been reading up on how to reinstall Windows on the y460p by first separating the SSD and HDD, installing Windows, then combining the SSD and HDD again:

My question...

If I use the Recovery DVDs to reinstall the system will it automatically use the SSD for the Windows files or will it see the SSD and HDD as one big HDD?  Do I perhaps need to separate the SSD from the HDD before using the Recovery DVDs to reinstall the laptop?

I have 2 HDD's in my (preconfigured) Lenovo y460p

An SDD, Samsung MMCRE32GEDXP-MVB

and a WDC WD7500BPVT-24HXZT1

At least that's what the Device Manager tells me.

i wouldn't use the recovery media to install the OS on the SSD, since it may have alignment problem on the SSD. If you want to install windows OS on SSD use a windows installation OEM media.

I agree with you, that would be the best way forward and have the newest drivers installed as well.

I had already downloaded a Windows 7 Home Premium OEM 64 bit.  So, in that sense I'm ready to go.  But if you see my first post I refer to a Lenovo document that says you must first separate the SSD and the HDD using the "RapidDrvieTool.exe", then install Windows, and then install RapidDrive to combine the SSD and the HDD again.

I'm not sure how to run the tool to separate the SSD and HDD if windows doesn't boot.  Also, using the method you describe, wouldn't I lose the "One Key Rescue" functionality?
