I'm glad I found this thread. I'm not using the version mentioned in this thread, instead, I use ATi Catalyst 12.1 which can be found by going to the main site of the website mentioned about the DSE.

Been using it for 2 days and found not any single bugs/problems.

The latest version is like all in one package. It will detect DSE, install it when if it is needed so you don't need to download it separately. It's really simple to install. I really recommend this driver to upgrade our ATi display driver.

Dude you do realise that there are newer versions of both Catalyst 11.8, & 8.881.0 driver on the official site?

Well but official drivers never worked for me. It refuses to install saying that my laptop is not supported (Y460).

Anyway, I have ATi display driver 8.93 installed from leshcat's site :smileyhappy:

That site seems as dodgy as the country that dude posted them from and if can't get your head around getting the right drivers, that's your problem. The official drivers are 8.93 FYI.

Hi,

excerpt from the release notes of the AMD display driver suite ver 12.1...

The following notebooks are not compatible with this release:

  • Any notebook launched after this driver release
  • Switchable Graphics enabled notebooks.

That's why this thread is created. If official driver can be installed on my Y460 why would I bother trying unofficial driver?
