Hello
I have IdeaPad Y510 and I have some problem with the battery.
Today I pressed the power button and the computer didn't start at all.
I plug the AC power and press the power button again and the computer started, but when I take the AC power out it shuted down like there is no power or battery. I pluged the AC back and I checked the batery and it says it's 100% full. The computer recognizes the batery ( gives all the information for the battery ) but the indicators arent flashing at all. Then I restarted the PC, get the battery out for a couple of hours, reinstall hot keys and energy cut, tried to do something from BIOS ( when it says to get the AC power out the PC shuts down ) but nothing helped.
I don't know what to try next ?
I have Windows XP and the newest BIOS installed.

I think that the battery is empty and can't start charging.
But why does it say that is 100% full ?

Same problem here, seems the battery pack for these are flaky, especially if you leave it idle a few weeks. Batteries should not die this quickly!

Have you tried removing both the AC adapter and the battery and pressing the power button for 30 seconds(to get rid of all the charge in the laptop's circuits)? This procedure solves a lot of weird problems.

I recently used my IdeaPad Y510 at a WiFi spot without the AC power cord. My battery worked just fine. When I reconnected the AC power cord it would not recharge the battery. There are no bent pins, loose hinges, or other structural damage that I can detect. The battery is 3 years old. Should I buy another or is there a fix for it? Any helpful suggestion would be appreciated.
