My system has a very poor performance, what should I do.

If I''m going to replace HDD with SSD, is it going to help?

I will depend on SSD characteristics. Some SDs are worse than even 4200 rpm HDDs.

Maybe ou should check your RAM amount firstly - usually RAM amount poors performance. If you have enough RAM you can turn off swapfile and gain performance.

Agreed... the SSD that comes with the HP mini 1000 is actually slower than the 4200RPM drive (I benchmarked it).  Be sure to do your research.

Having said that I replaced the drive in my U110 with a SSD and performance really improved. No more waiting for the drive and watching the little blue light flash...

Also, just to qualify your problem... what makes you think its an IO issue?   As skripatch said, it could be RAM or it could be spyware or something unrelated to your drive thats making your system crawl
