Lenovo U300s HD video playback

Hi guys.

When I first got my laptop, HD video playback was smooth and flawless. However, after a month now of getting the device, playing 1080p YouTube vidoes is very very choppy. The sound is there but the video is choppy. I'm basically just seeing images, not  a video.

This happens to my desktop as well once I watch 1080p videos, but that's because it's a very old (2005) model. Any idea what might have gone wrong with my device?

On a separate note, once I reach 5%, the computer has an error message and turns of automatically. Why can't I just use till 0%? Sometimes I need just 10 mins more but the laptop shuts down itself. Any way I can change this?

These battery should never be drained to below 5%, as this would damage the battery due to overdischarge.
