I succeeded in hosing my system so I restored it back to Sunday (Acronis 2012).
I (re-)installed Bioexcess, but made none of the other changes we've talked about in the last 10 or so posts.
I did uninstall Veriface (this was mentioned before) and notice it's much snappier in popping up the login screen with the fingerprint icons.
We'll see!

Yes, I too hosed things up. I just could not leave well enough alone and I made the fatal mistake of running Lenovo Boot Optimizer. Untypically, it ran OK through two complete boot ups (in order to optimize). But I got the dreaded "Please Wait" message for every boot attempt after that. After doinking around with all the usual suspects, I eventually just enabled everything - all services. Lo and behold, its been booting fine again - so far. Now I just have to approach every start-up with trepidation and keep my fingers crossed. As V570 users know, it's only a matter of time before your number is up.

Hi My v570 simply won't boot. When turned on the LED on the touchpad light up but the screen remains blank and it makes little noise. Have tried the one key rescue but same result. Nothing comes up on the screen. Help would be appreciated. Thanks
this is a different prob from this thread. You probably have a blown BIOS. If you got it at BestBuy, take it back.

driver 3.0.10.4 exists in D:/drivers/FP , and at lenovo support
http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/us/en/DriversDow
I did not change the driver, and am having success with Bioexcess by just uninstalling VeriFace .
Egistech will not fix this release as it has moved on to a new release which does not support our ES603 fingerprint readers.
There are 2 different BioExcess rel 67 modules, but I have been unable to verify that the original workes any different from the one at the Lenovo support site above. I'm using the original at the moment.

I restored (Acronis) my C partition back to before I had done anything with the services - either those 3, or the 2 egistec ones. The only thing I have modified is to uninstall veriface.
Opinion - Egistec used a legacy driver to enable the 603 instead of the Win7 Biometric API stuff.
I am looking at http://store.authentec.com/en-us/nm/ap/eikonsolo.a
IN12STW68WW5.exe but that's the bioexcess module.
