Lenovo Y430 Blank Screen

My friend recently brought a Lenovo Ideapad Y430 to me to see if I can fix it. I turned it on but the screen remains blank. I tried to see if the LCD screen was off but Fn+F2 didn't do anything. The keyboard seems functional, the lights for the touch inductive panel respond, but without the screen on, it seems impossible to know whats going on. I'm guessing it's probably an internal problem, like a loose/blown connection or something but I don't want to jump to conclusions. Any ideas?

could be dead ram or graphic card issue.

try to swap or replace the ram sticks.
