How bad can the computer be with i7 Ivy Bridge, 8GB of RAM, 2GB Dedicated GPU, all that HDD space, and all the other stuff? I got it with the max 3 YR in home + ADP warranty off their website for 1,195.27. Huge deal, IMHO.
Great! Now, you realize you're obligated to provide a DETAILED overview after you get it, right?
I think there will be LOTS of questions!

This looks like a really great laptop, perfect for my needs. But, when will it be arriving in the UK? What's the usual delay between US releases and UK for Lenovo?
BTW their UK site is a mess (for the Y series anyway). Links that don't work, older models like the 560 being declared "NEW!". They need someone to get to work on that.

Hello, I just bought a Lenovo Y480. It's a great and amazing laptop. But I just need to post some issues I have found so far:
1. I didn't find any CD when I open up the box. The box is still sealed. I look at the manual and it says CD's are optional.
2. When I removed the small plastic covering the Y480 label, the rubber under the label is removed along with the plastic cover.
3. The upper right portion of the ruber surounding the edge of the lid is not attached.
Those are just very minor issues and the rest of my experience using the laptop is great.

Also, is there a way to know which version of 640m LE graphic card the Y480 is using. I checked dxdiag or the Nvidia Control Panel and I can't seem to find whether it uses the 90+ or the 300+ pipeline.

If you could post your result when you do that too, that'd be great. I would like to know which the y480 uses as well (probably the 90+ at the price its been going for). Mine is shipping today or tomorrow ![]()

Unfortunately, It seems the 640m LE of y480 is the 96 pipeline one. Using the GPU-Z, it shows 40nm technology, 96 shaders, and it doesn't support CUDA (while Nvidia's site says it does).
Also can I ask if 95C is normal when playing 2009 games such as Resident Evil 5 and Need For Speed Undercover at High Settings? Medium settings brings it down to 90C. Thanks a lot for answering guys.
