Lenovo Y570 Easy Camera not working

I have recently reinstalled windows 7 on my y570. On the previous version of windows (which was not installed by me) the web camera software was working (allowing me to take pictures etc.) but now, even though I have installed the same drivers from the CD provided with the computer, the camera software is not working.

The driver seems to be correctly installed as the camera is working on instant messengers. I reinstalled the driver and still nothing. After checking the support website, I was unable to find any other software to install, but only the driver I already had.

How can I install a software for the web camera that will allow me to take pictures and access the camera when I am not using video chat or skype?

is there any error message? have you tried to un-install the software and re-install it? which model of lenovo are you using by the way?
