The user reviews I've been reading on another forum are all really positive and there are people that are using it for gaming. I guess we are the unlucky ones. If my replacement does not work I'm going to just return the product. I'm extremely disappointed with the replacement process thusfar.
1. Call tech support and fail at getting a resolution (1 day).
2. Call post sales to request a return.
3. Get e-mail information for returning product (4 days).
4. Ship out defective laptop (1 day).
5. Just received my e-mail today that they are processing the replacement unit now (they will not start this until they see that you sent back the defective unit)(5 days).
By the time I get the replacement unit it will be about a month since I ordered the original laptop which sounds completely absurd.
Good luck to you all.

I can say that it's a possibility that if you're having problems it might be the thermal paste on the gpu was not pasted right.
On my Y580, my Nvidia 660m could go through Furmark testing without overheating.. but the i7 cpu would overheat with Prime95 torture testing, and hit 89C and have to downclock. My Y580 had no problems with the stock drivers in gaming and I could easily play Black ops for a good while.
I decided to repaste the cpu/gpu with Arctic mx4 and I went from hitting 89+C to maxing out at 81C in prime 95 for the i7 cpu. The Nvidia 660m improved by only 1C, so it was already pasted correctly in the factory.

so you're saying that your laptop works fine without the flashing colors and stuff? Well that's a bit of good news since I was considering to actually get a refund, but now I guess I'll just exchange for a new one.

I have this same issue with just about every game on the 304.78 drivers from beta
I called the tech support they told me '
"because there are no official drivers yet for this card you will have to wait till they are developed"
this glitching even occurred on older games like LOTRO
and I might like to add in the nvidia settings where they have the spinning logo if you look at it too shall have this glitching effect

Same here. But other people have been saying that their laptop works better (though I'm not sure theirs work fine or not). I'm getting a replacement to confirm, I advise you to do the same before your 21 days expire.

I think I was probably the first to return the product for this problem but I'm not due to get my replacement until next Friday. As I mentioned before, the return process is ridiculously long.
