thank you very much for your help.i was having the same issue and it really helped me to fix it.
i just formatted 256 mb flash to fat system and plugged it to the usb/esata port.
then waited 1-2 minutes computer starts automatically.
removed the usb, then everything is ok now.
Большое спасибо за помощь. После неудачной прошивки БИОС мне это помогло.
Флешку 256 мб форматировал в ФАТ.
Вставлять необходимо в гнездо справа, там где ESATA/USB.
Прошивалось примерно 1-2 минуты, после чего ноут сам выключился.
Вытащил флешку, запустил и всё ОК.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I was already looking for CMOS Pins or the Battery. This thread needs to have much more google keywords, I found it after two hours. So here we go, I hope it helps someone else:
Y560 Bios stuck after update
Y560 Phoenis Bios freeze
Y560 Bios upgrade broken
Y560 Bios upgrade failed
Flash Bios on Y560
Reset Bios on Y560
Y560 Bios Crash crashed
Anyway, THANKS for this solution! I used a 2gb stick and the first two links provided and everything went very good.

Hello there!
Just yesterday my Y560 got messed somehow while flashing BIOS (71 to 59 because of overheating issues). The flashing completed succesfully (at least that's what the message box said) and computer was about to restart. The Windows shut down, but the computer never really turned off. It just stucked with black screen and some LEDs lighting. After about 15 minutes I turned it off manually.
Since that, the computer is dead. It doesn't respond to AC power, battery plugging in/out and of course not even the power button :-(
I followed the instructions here, but after Fn+R + power btn nothing happened. Here is what I did (on my XP desktop):
Did I do anything wrong? In some other rescue topic someone suggested to hold Fn+B, then plug AC (battery still out) and then press the power. But that didn't help either.
Could it be because of battery which is not at 100%? I used long life mode, so I guess it never got to the full power. Unfortunately I don't think the battery would charge now when the computer is dead.
How comes that everyone else succeeded and I didn't? What's the difference here?
Any help appreciated, thanks ![]()
