Re: My new u310 gives really low speeds on wifi

Dear Lenovo User ,

Please provide the neccessary BIOS  information  to be able to support you guys and test result that  I have provided in my previous posts. In addition , you really can't say it is global issue.  By saying it is universal issue requires a lot of proof .  If thousands of people could complain here in forum and then  maybe you could say something like it is global issue. However  ,  here is some people effected from the problem. When you are  complaining something you have to  check the entire system  maybe the  modems having inconsistency with Laptop. Problem maybe because of the modem .  Have you try to upgrade the software of the modem ?  Please try light candle to survive from darkness.

Regards

The chinese driver download for the Liteon Wireless Lan is the exact same as on the en-us support site (ver. 9.2.1.500).

Did not fix any problems. Btw another U410 user here with the same connection problems. Constantly dropping the connection, and speeds are really really bad. I have a dual-band Netgear router, 2 mobile phones, HTPC and another laptop that ensure its defenietly a problem related to the U410, as they all have perfectly stable and speedy connections.

As for HW; have a broadcom adapter BCM43XX. Bois listed is 65CN15WW

edit: the liteon driver does not seem to be for this model. should use the other package, but still, same driver as installed. ( broadcom 5.100.82.112)

Re: My new u310 gives really low speeds on wifi

My question is why should I be updating drivers and installing software for such basic system functions in a brand new expensive machine ? I would expect the manufactuer to take care of all this before it is put on the shelves for sale. I would wait for the Lenovo technicians to come and sort this problem for me. I am not updating anything on my own and then get blamed for messing around. The Liteon driver installation has made no difference.

Dear User ,

People are here to support or guide  and  discuss on lenovo products issue.  It  is the purpose of the forum and  trying to achive the solution by looking  at the problem from different perspectives this might be softwares  issue , you are free not to do anything  , you can assume the replies as broadcasting and free to never get into same signal frequency. It is absolutely your choice and it  is your way.

Re: My new u310 gives really low speeds on wifi

Hello everybody. I really would like to understand how Lenovo feels about service. So after i pay 800 euros for a brand new machine i had to spend around 10 days so far to try and make it work as it should ?! Are you seriuos ?!? Tried all possible things, all possible driver versions, new and old, nothing works. The same issue with connectivity and speed. I am really getting tired of this. I called customer support US because it is a 24/7 hotline, they have no ideea about this, called the shop where i got it and told me to call lenovo support. I am tired of being sent from one place to the other, and waiting maybe someone finds a solution.

And it is a faulty line, or at least maybe the u series made in a specific time period. Because otherwise it would be a remote case, but not when it happens with different machines, same series, different wlan cards, and different manufacturers of those cards.

Thank you Lenovo for selling faulty machines for a LOT of money, and then pretending that there is nothing wrong, or for not doing anything about it.

Re: My new u310 gives really low speeds on wifi

Dear Mark/Nine,

I started this thread to get a solution to my problem not open a R&D lab of my own. I have done everything mentioned on this forum and sent the details also requested by nine in a PM.

Can i have a solution. The tech team in india is also clueless. They had asked me for time till this last friday and on friday i receive a call from them to give them some more time.

Its been 3 long weeks since i bought this laptop and have not been able to use it even once.

Look forward to a solution soon

Thanks
Nishant

Re: My new u310 gives really low speeds on wifi

Hi,

I've got the same problem here with my new U310. The wireless connection only works when I'm sitting almost directly next to the router. When the laptop is used in another room, the connection is very unstable or completely lost.

WIth other devices like a smartphone (HTC Desire) or an old crappy Acer notebook the wifi works perfectly fine and is also quite fast in that room.

Could someone from Lenovo please confirm that they are working on that problem? Because otherwise I would have to return my laptop at the end of my 14 day trial period granted by amazon.

(That would be a shame, since the U310 is a great device in all other aspects. But an ultrabook without halfway decent wifi is like a car without wheels - nice to look at but also quite useless).

Technical data of my U310:

BIOS version: LENOVO 65CN13WW, 30.04.2012

WIFI card by broadcom

broadcom driver version: 5.100.82.112

 Thanks.

Re: My new u310 gives really low speeds on wifi

@OKR-MAN

I have had the candle lit up since 3 weeks now and you guys have just been hiding in low light of this candle. It seems that you guys only can survive in the candle light so that your flaws are hidden from the world.

What exactly do u mean that its not a universal problem. There are people complaining about the same problem from around the world and i am sure there are thousands who feel that putting things on this forum is a waste of time. I could also feel the same but I choose not to because I am hoping that I would be interacting with highly skilled problem solvers who are sensitive towards a problem faced by so many geographies.

Look forward to some constructive interaction to get rid of this issue. I started this thread for a purpose and I feel you are not really helping so maybe you should stay away with your defensiveness. I have got this reply to update my driver multiple times from several people before you. And here is BIOS version is 65CN13WW.

I have a couple of more days before I get my money back so the constructive helpers at Lenevo are requested to help solve the issue if possible.

Thanks
