All,
I believe our engineering team is making progress on this issue and I appreciate the feedback that you have provided so far. Until we have an official fix, efforts to bombard service or agitate with local servicers are not going to resolve the problem.
Until a fix is released and a formal tip issued, calling different call centers in different countries / regions will likely generate different responses as the agents attempt to do problem determination.
I understand that some of you have been posting here for a couple of weeks, but it does take a bit of time to test, gather enough information to determine the root cause and then develop a field plan. Drivers can often take several weeks to develop and test - the ones being offered in this thread may improve the performance, but are probably not a solution for everyone.
I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused - we are working to get this resolved.
Best regards,
Mark

Hi guys,
Yes even I had the same problem - bought in Amazon :
1. tried all new drivers
2. tried all different settings as well
I get good internet speed with other model laptops with n series wifi (sony / dell ) etc.
Also guys have you noticed - your wifi disconnects and doesnot connect untill you remove - when you connect a USB 3.0 WD portable HD in USB 3.0 port... which is very annoying...
I think Lenovo has to call back all the U410 laptops and fix them all - its their reputation thats getting spoiled .
I already own 4 lenovo models and this is the first time they had a flaw in the design...

Hi Mark,
Yes even I have the same problem with Wifi - waiting for that fix dont want repeat description...
Also I have noticed - when you connect a USB 3.0 portable HD (WD 500GB my passport) in USB 3.0 port..
wifi disconnects and doesnot connect untill you remove it-
(works fine when connected to USB 2.0 port).
Is this related to the same issue ? Will this fix it as well????

Hi,
my brand new U410 has the same problem. Besides the very poor signal quality and speed it takes a very long time to establish a wifi connection after boot-up. The Notebook finds the wifi but at the beginning there is a yellow sign on the signal range of the wifi. After a few minutes the connection is established, but very poor.
I also tried my second router, but with the same result. My old MacBook has a great signal at the same places and also my mobiles have no connection problem with my wifi router.
Beside this I found a comment on an informal forum. A user wrote there relating a U410:
"I had the same issue and I solved the issue by swapping the wireless card antenna connections, so black to white connector and white to black connector.
I believe they had a kind of production issue."
I will certainly not open a brand new Notebook, but it might be a hint to the LENOVO-team at this forum here to check if our problem is caused by a production error.

Hello Everyone,
Please keep on chasing your dealer and Lenovo tech support.
The service centre guy came once again and saw that the problem was real. The earlier service centre technician tried to pin the blame on my router. The new technician has admitted that the signal breaks all the time and the connection speed is very low. I spoke to some technical person at Lenovo Mumbai and he has assured that they are going to solve this problem or replace the machine.
Don't give up!
Cheers,
Amit

I was replacing the SSD in my U410 today, and took a good look at the wireless card. The antenna connectors are not soldered, so i gave it a try to switch them. Problem only got worse, so there's no solution in that either.
