My system is making an occasional clicking noise... But I currently have no problems with it. Could the less than 2 month old hdd be going bad? I'm going to run "CheckDisk" to see if it comes up with any errors...

But my hdd isn't a WD, it's a HITACHI_HTS725050A9A364
So this clicking noise is normal?

System as in the computer but I'm pretty sure it's the hdd, it's not the speakers. I did not do a diskcheck yet but will today and will report back later today.

LOL I fell asleep before the tests finished but stage 1-3 had no errors... I think it's the normal operation of the Hitachi hdd. The thinkpads had a problem with them before... http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Problem_with_hard_dr

performing clean windows installation may help you.
And how would I check system logs? BTW have you read that article? It states that the hdd that IBM/Lenovo uses has problems like this.
