When I start my ideapad z460 , the black light of the screen comes up but nothing shows. After waiting for some time , I'll need to close the lid of the screen and reopen it a few times before the windows7 startup screen appears.
This is not a serious problem when i want to start up normally .
The real problem is now I have no idea of how to get into my BIOS.

Hi,
to enter the BİOS pressing the f2 key should do it.
When the Lenovo logo appears,on the bottom left corner you should see it
written there.
Your graphics driver may need re-installing or updating.
Also Video adapter problems, are a common cause.
Please go to Device Manager and see if there are any yellow triangles,
or marks next to anything.
From there you can update or install reinstall what ever is needed.

You tried all of the above suggestions and nothing helped?
Check for a newer BİOS version on the Lenovo site.
İs there one?
Did you wipe the system and reinstalled W.7?
What if any changes did you make?
Can you remember doing anything, just before this first happened?
Please give details.

Sorry just found out that it is the ' Internal Display not detected when startup ' problem.
That has no solutions to it ![]()
And my solution:
1) Starts - press power button
( screen shows nothing )
2) Wait - computer boots..............
( screen still blank )
3) Dumdumdumdum... - Win7 boots up
( screen blank....... )
4) Close down the lid of the screen for 3 seconds......
5) Opens up the screen.
!!! MAgically the screen comes back alive =>
-Apart from all the desktop icons get messed up , everything goes on like normal.
6) Never shuts down again . > Puts computer into sleep mode.
--------------------------------------------------
If suddenly battery runs dry in sleep mode , plug in power cable and start and remember to press enter ( for - START WINDOWS NORMALLY ) then repeat steps 3 - 5 .

What is the OS ?
So you get this message ''Internal Display not detected when startup''
do you?
İn Control Panel>Display is with correct settings (native resolution)?,
Do you have an external monitor connected?
İf this is a recent problem,if so do you have a system restore point,
you could restore to?
İf so please try that first.
Also do disable the sleep function please.
Please give details,as to when and where this message pops up.

The sleep function is in default settings and I like it alot that way
This internal display not detected when startup is a common problem happening to all laptop users
