I have had a Y550P for a year and half now, and it is now out of warranty. The power cord has developed a break in the plastic coating just below where it plugs in to the power "brick" and a wire is exposed.
I consider this a significant defect and potential fire hazard, but can find no information here on how to get a replacement power cord. It is obviously a defective cord, for I have not seen any other cord do this before and have seen no mention of this issue on the boards.
Need some help here!
Thanks.

I looked at your Ebay link and saw several different models listed, all for use with the Y550P. How do I know which is the proper one for use with my machine? I looked at my power supply and could not match numbers on it with the items listed on Ebay....
