SPDIF Output

Has anyone used the SPDIF digital output on the Y510 successfully? I am trying to go to coax digital output.

Re: SPDIF Output

I use it all the time, i got a cable off amazon.com for about 5 bucks. I can't seem to find the cheap ones anymore but this is what your looking for...

http://www.amazon.com/Lindy-Digital-audio-optical-TOSLINK/dp/B00062UQ0G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=12306...

Then once that is hooked up to your amp or whatever just go into your Dolby menu and set your digital output to default. Make sure to restart whatever you were trying to watch if it was playing and you should be set.

Re: SPDIF Output

Thanks for the information. However, I'm not looking to use Toslink, I need to use a digital audio coax cable with RCA connectors.

Re: SPDIF Output

The output from the 3.5mm jack is either analog for headphones or rca etc, or optical spdif... to use the digital you have to use a 3.5mm optical spidif to either toslink, or 3.5mm spdif. There is no way to output to digital coax.
