Techies! Replacing screen with B156HW01 (1080p) on my Y570 - connector question

To tech gurus out there:

I'm planning on replacing my B156XW02 low-res WXGA panel with B156HW 1080p panel.

They have same size, same connector placing, etc.

Only problem - I've heard that my stock connector doesn't support HD output. Is it true? Will I need to replace my 40pin connector with an HD-supporting one?

Yep.

Due to a poor design design desicions from Lenovo, connecting an HD panel to this motherboard is impossible.
In short, HD monitors need 40 pins, but this mobo uses 10 out of 40 for webcam input. So, only 30 is available for the screen.

Very bad desicion by Lenovo, they could make lots of $$ by allowing upgrades to HD screens. They saved a couple of dollars on a badly designed mobo, and losing hundreds per unit on a potential screen upgrades.
