Hi guys, I'm experiencing an issue that is making the computer lose a TON of functionality: my touchpad breaks regularly. When I reboot, the touchpad seems to work just fine, but after using it for a half-hour to an hour, it suddenly goes totally beserk and doesn't handle input well. The cursor jerks around and stops working in certain directions; if it can left or right it won't be able to go up or down, if it can go up or down it won't be able to go left or right.
The remote help people re-installed the touchpad drivers and it seemed to help for a bit, but then the touchpad went right back to being broken and doing the same wonky stuff it used to.
I bought this computer off the Lenovo store on Amazon on Monday and it arrived here today ( Wednesday) afternoon, so it's a very young computer that absolutely shouldn't be experiencing ANY of thse types of issues. Help!
Please help!

Tried that, it still goes totally crazy. I've re-booted and re-installed the old driver, re-installed new drivers from the website, and nothing seems to fix it. Tech Support told me they were going to try re-installing Windows but this seems like a pretty obvious hardware error, so I talked to Amazon and they're just going to send me a new computer tomorrow.
Thanks for trying, and feel free to discuss this further if you think it may be a driver issue after all.

I tried what you said, plus re-installing the drivers, installing new drivers ect ect. Every time it was the same thing: the trackpad would work for an hour or so, then start freaking out.

Brand new machine. Mine too. I've uninstalled drivers, reinstalled drivers, upodated drivers ( which made it totally not work). Adjusted palm send=sitivity, touch sensitivity, turned off the pinch . I have to make a circle with my finger to get teh touch pad st start working . Scrolls by itself . Zooms by itself. Very annoying...

Mine too. Sent back to Lenovo depot 2x so far, and it's still doesn't work. Now the depot changed the drivers and I have so settings to adjust and the keyboard keeps jumping all over the place. Hasn't worked since I got it now Lenovo won't repalce it or refund... Thanks Lenovo.

My Z575 is a few months old. I don't have touchpad symptoms as severe as those described in this thread. But my touchpad is not as "smooth" in performance as my wife's Mac or my daughter's Dell, specifically with two finger scrolling. In that regard, the primary problem I experience pertains to two finger scrolling. If I place two fingers on the touchpad and let them lay there for a second or two before attempting a scroll, the touchpad doesn't sense the fingers are there and doesn't do anything. But if my two fingers make contact with the touchpad at the same time that I'm making a scrolling motion with them, then the touchpad works properly. Making sensitivity changes to the touchpad doesn't seem to have any effect. And the driver is the current one.
