Touchpad only works if I touch the lower left corner

If PalmCheck is enabled, the touchpad only works if I touch the lower left corner of the touchpad.  If it's disabled, the cursor is ridiculously jittery and tends to move to the left.

 

My touchpad isn't terribly useful at this point... and I only bought the laptop yesterday.  Other than this issue I really like it.
