U330 - Video Card removal

All,

 

I have the U330 white bar flashing on the screen problem.  it is getting worse now and happens on both ATI and Intel cards.  

 

I also have managed to damage the HDMI port of the computer.  

 

Is the video card PCIe?  Is the hdmi port part of the motherboard or part of the video board?

 

Would a change of video card help the blinking white line issue?
