U330 bios doesn't enable virtualization techonology mode?

Can any one from lenovo tell me why U330 bios doesn' t have virtualization technology enable?

My work MUST use the VMware. Can any one tell me how to enable it?

It 's very serious problem for me.

On my Y510, the Core2Duo T5550 1.83GHz does not support virtualization technology mode.

My U330 cpu is  P8600 ,  it support the VT but i cannot enable this option in bios. Who can tell me how can i deal with this?

yes, me too

i have ask Lenovo online support, they told me U330's matherboard does not support to enable this feature.

but they do not mentioned in any of the description

We can inquire further, but the IdeaPad product line does not support VT presently.  As it is not marketed as specifically having this feature, this will likely be seen as a future requirement rather than a bug to fix.

but if the offical does not support VT presently, i think Lenovo offical need to give a announcement in the product description.

or it will misguide the custom to buy the VT product

I have a Y530 and I think Lenovo has made quite a blunder here.  If the laptop hardware supports VT (which these Ideapads all PROBABLY DO), the BIOS should have the option to enable/disable VT.  It is that simple.  No gimmicks, no marketing tricks. This to me smells more like marketing crap and not a technical issue.  I am extremely disappointed and had I known this I would NOT have bought an Ideapad.  This is not the 1990s anymore people and it was a stupid decision to not offer any VT options with these laptops.  JUST PLAIN STUPID.  Thanks for listening. I hope Lenovo rectifies this problem ASAP. Cheers

I have write mail to Lenovo and also ping live site enginner and also here.

even write mail to Lenovo marking team to conplain.

all the answer is same: maybe can fix it in future.

After being initially excited about the U330, I too have become disillusioned with my purchase. The issues with the BIOS are at the top.

1. Can't enable virtualisation technology even though this thing has a Penryn processor

2. Inability to select integrated graphics (for linux)as opposed to 'switchable'

3. Inabiilty to turn off the bluetooth in the bios

I should have bought a Dell xps. The BIOS on Dell's tend to have far more options for these kinds of things.

Point (2) has made my new laptop just a desktop, since I can only get 2 hours battery life with linux and ATI graphics. :-(
