Re: U330 bios doesn't enable virtualization techonology mode?

Yeah last bios 67 add an option to activate/disable VT-d !

Also, it fixes Swichable graphics under Seven ! Runs ok for me with seven 64 bits after reistallation of ATI discrete drivers for Seven.

Thanks Lenovo !

Re: U330 bios doesn't enable virtualization techonology mode?

All,

As a suggestion, since this thread was focused on getting VT support for the U330, could I suggest that a number of members download the BIOS, apply and try it on their U330.

There could be exception cases depending on CPU model where some U330's might not support (I've seen those comments on the Win 7 thread related to U330 that Tonynca has been leading).

Perhaps then we could post with a link to the drivers and mark it as a solution to wrap up this thread.   I would suggest starting new threads to focus on other systems, rather than having this one drag on.

I'd like to see some consensus on success of the BIOS in the field before marking the solution.

Thanks

Mark

Re: U330 bios doesn't enable virtualization techonology mode?

I'm glad Lenovo's finally getting their act together and releasing an updated bios for the U330, but my problem is I have the y730 4053-2bu & as previously mentioned the new U330 bios doesn't work for the y730 & like so many of you I bought this **bleep** laptop thinking I'll be able to put x64 vm's in vmware on it, but NO, Lenovo had to block those of us who do have VT capable processors just because they didn't want to release different bios different processors.  Anyway, I'm ready to attempt the bios hacking mentioned towards the beginning of this blog, but I am not really clear on how to do it.  If someone who has been successfull would post STEP-BY-STEP instructions so that a newbie can understand how to do it, I would certainly appreciate it!  Has anyone successfully done the bios modding on the y730?

Thanks to all of you...One day we'll all be able to use our VT enabled pc's as we thought we could out of the box!

[ Edited ]

Yes I have been able to enable my Y730 - P8400 and 64-bit windows. I am starting to post some info in this thread.

Do not expect a simple an painless fix, though.
