you could follow this guide to reinstalling everything, thats what i did yesterday as i got a new HD and everything is fine now
great tip - I never realized the key was on the bottom of my laptop! I bookmarked that just to have in case, plus search Lenovo forums for clean install guide if the whole machine is gone!
EDIT - nope - I'm in the process of downloading a couple different Win7 64 (which I have on the factory v570) isos, which i will ei patch and burn, and test. always wise to be ready!!! I love mindless revovery! - it assures that my V570 will never break! (Murphy's law).

Just so you know, I would not use disk 'Imaging' software to recover or try to preserve data from a known failed drive!!! Just so you know there are professional data recovery specialists, there is also professional grade data recovery software that you can buy yourself that delivers on what it is (caution on the plethora of so called 'recovery' tools out there that are not what you want). I know your pics were valuable to from your comments, hope you got them all back.
Cheers

I use Acronis TI 2012 scheduled weekly to back up my primary spindle , and a partition on the second spindle, to the second spindle, and occasionally a 3rd and 4th spindle, and occasionally a dvd.

Heh heh. You need something like this for your pics: Quantum BCBBH-EY Black 320GB Tabletop USB 2.0 eSATA Interface DLT-V4 Tape Drive. At one point I could swear I saw some used ones for 3-4 hundred bucks.

"when you install windows, your cdkey wont work, just enter it 3 times and itll be ok"
huh? You mean if I install Win Home Prem 64, the key on the bottom of my laptop won't work unless I do it 3 times?

Your CD key on the bottom of your laptop will work for your version of Windows (Ultimate, Prof., etc). You may have to use phone activation depending upon the type of disc you are installing (retail, oem, etc.).
