I purchased a new Y560 from CompUsa in October but the warranty expiration date on the Lenovo website reflected June.
My intent was to purchase a warranty extension so I wanted to make sure the dates were correct.
I called several departments and finally got someone who told me to email my proof of purchase. In the meantime I ended up exchanging the laptop due to a RAM issue but this serial number had the same problem. The date on the website indicated the laptop was purchased in June. I went ahead and emailed a copy of my new receipt to lenovo_pop@suth.com and I even explained that the serial number was different that I'd originally told them due to the exchange.
I never heard back so I eventually called again. The person had to dig through the email files to find my emailed receipt. She found it, indicated it woudl be corrected and even offered me a discount on the 2 yr extension. At the end of the call she asked if there was anything else and thought it would be good to just double check she got the right serial number. Of course she hadn't! She was updating the old serial number and putting the two year extension on the laptop I had exchanged.
We sorted that out and when I got my receipt for the extension the serial number was correct but when I go to the warranty lookup it still shows the incorrect date. I read in this forum that the website doesn't always show the extension date (which is pretty sad) but from what I've read the standard warranty should be correct. I even saw that someone else on the forum said they gave it a few weeks for it to update. It's now been 2 months and it's still incorrect.
Will it ever update?
