Hello
I have a lenovo Y560( i5 430M, ati 5730). It came with win 7 Home Premium 64 bit. My laptop was working perfectly few days back. I was playing game on my laptop and suddenly it shut down itself. I thought it might be because of over heat. So, every time i tried to restart my laptop, the windows welcome screen came and all of a sudden, screen turned black ( screen closed ) and laptop froze. Upon next startup, en error came, " a recent hardware or software change might have caused the problem", asked to repair my laptop and i tried to repair my laptop, but it failed. I tried using One Key Recovery feature, but it didnt help.
So, i then installed new copy of Windows( Win 7 ultimate 64 bit) , downloaded all drivers from http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/in/en/DriversDow
I then booted my laptop in safe mode with networking, disabled ATI driver( keeping onboard video driver enabled) and restarted the laptop. It booted successfully giving the " ...... not designated to run on Windows or it contains .... " error. i tried "scan hardware change" on the VGA Device ( as it shows for video card ) and gives the error that "Driver not intended for this platform".
so, whts the problem, is it the hardware or the software? Please help me!

This stuff happens with ATI software, imo their hardware is good and cheaper, but not as great in application/driver support. Instead of downloading the drivers from the lenovo website, use AMD's/ATI's and download the latest Catalyst Control Center, and then let that software download/install the latest 5730 drivers. http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.
It is recommended that you first uninstall and clean (using a driver clearner software, as a regular control panel uninstall just wont remove everything; I recomend driver sweeper) your current ATI drivers.

@bloodshot772,I did as you said. AMD Catalyst Control Suite is not downloading. An error is coming, " AMD Catalyst Mobility cannot be downloaded due to incompatible hardware/software on your computer. The version of your graphics adapter is not supported. Please contact your notebook manufacturer for a graphics driver update"
