Y450 Battery Problem - Consider replacing your battery [ Edited ]

Hello everyone,

I just boght my Y450 10 months ago but 3 weeks ago, Windows (win7) told be that i have a problem with my bettery and needs to be replaced? hows that possible since the unit is just few months old.

Can you very that it needs to be replaced? and is it included in the warranty?

I have the same problem, which occurred just today. I am wondering if it's because of Windows 7, because I just installed my Windows 7 the other day. I'm not sure though. I am worried. My y450 was bought last July 29, 2009. And I am very much careful with it that I make sure it's not overcharged or such.

I bought my Y450 on 19th Feb, 2010 and about a week ago. I faced the similar message " Consider Replacing your battery" .

Before that message, my battery used to last for little above 3 hrs without AC power. Then after few months, it used to last little above 2 hrs....n then 1 week ago the battery sign is displaying" Consider replacing your battery"............and battery time is hardly 1 hr...

Can anyone faced the same problem? what should be done??

Is battery included in the warranty? I have not talked to Lenovo warranty....my laptop is under warranty !!!!

contact lenovo support line and ask for free battery replacement if your warranty covers.

I'm also facing the same problem. mine is 15 months old laptop. Sone say its the problem with the windows 7 OS. bot other say its battery problem.

do anybody know whta is the real problem?

have the same problem here with Win 7 x64.

bought the laptop a year ago but now i have my battery only last for half hour.

Lenovo SUCKS.

My harddisk also makes some sound when i run some program or copy some files, just like old pc did...

i bought this **bleep**in Lenovo Y450 in Indonesia for 980 US $.

i had DELL before and the bateery was as though as new (last for 2 hours) after i used it for 2 years.

will never buy lenovo again.

Asus or Samsung are much better.

i have Asus N61J which i bought in Spain, it's beautiful n good performs, it cost me 800euro.

i also had Samsung R519, low end but powerful, 2 years ago was 500euro.

contact lenovo support line if you have valid warranty, lenovo will replace it for free if it's necessary.

All of this is strange. My Y450 laptop is 21 months old and it's still doing great. I really hope I won't get this problem.

Hello Friends,

I bought Y450 idea pad laptop in singapore 20 months back. I didnt go for extended warranty. Now i moved to India. Today the battery shows a cross mark saying" consider replacing the battery".

This is the first time i am seeing this popup.

How much it takes to replace battery ? Also, any good and reliable servicing centre in Hyderabad,India for lenovo.

Also, can i get warranty now?

warranty won't cover battery replacement. you can buy it from ebay about 25$ -65$.
