Y510 Display not working

Hi I bought my Y510 44Q  in 2008. 2 days back the monitor used to show mosaics displays and the display driver used to crash and furthur recover on its own. Now when i switch on the system, there is no display on the monitor

I also tried to connect my lap to a computer monitor. The hazy and distorted mosaic images were seen.

Need Help to sort out this issue.

Thanks

Re: Y510 Display not working

Sounds like a hardware problem.

Re: Display Problem in Y510

- try to remove/replace the battery then try to start-up your computer.
- remove the battery and plug ac power then try to start-up your computer.
- remove the battery and ac power, press power button for 20-30 seconds, plug the battery then try to start-up your computer.
- try to remove/replace or swap ram sticks then try to start-up your computer.
- remove the ram sticks then try to start-up your computer.post back if you don't hear any beep.
- if you have hdmi or vga cable, try to use another monitor.

possbile dead ram or graphic issue but to make sure, please, post back the results.

Re: Display Problem in Y510 and T410

Thank you so much!  I just had this same problem on my T410, a blank screen on the laptop but fine on the external monitor.  I did what you said below, removed the power cord and the battery, and then held down the on/off button for 30 seconds.  Then I plugged the power cord back in but not the battery, and rebooted.  It worked, the laptop screen was back!  I  must admit I thought this couldn't work, given no power when you hold down the on/off, but did it and it worked.  Thank you very much for posting this helpful solution.  Best regards, Lisa
