Ok, I know how to delete the veriface software. How about the rest of the items. I'm totally clueless. This is 64bit Vista if that matters.
Thanks!

Go start->run->services.msc
There you find Windows Shadow volume copy service and Windows Search(indexing) service. In properties of both of them you should change start method on "disabled".
Then go to start->control panel->system->advanced system properties->advanced->highest properties button->advanced->virtual memory properties
there you uncheck checkbox for "automatic OS management of virtual memory" and typy size depending on your RAM amount.
Summary amount of your RAM and swapfile should be 3 GB - this will be enough for most of things to do.
Just clearly sign that swapfil sze starts at 102 mbytes and ends at 1024 mbytes if your RAM is about 2 GB.

NIS is norton internet security - antivirus kit preinstalled in system.
I is a bit annoying and slow to my taste.
