Y550 Virtualization Problem!!

Hello. İ have a Lenovo Y550 notebook. Even  though my cpu support virtualization, there are no virtualization options on bios... İ want to utilize virtualization. Can you tell me how to make use of virtulations configuration? Or can you find me recent bios update? Thanks

Unfortunately virtualization has been purposefully disabled and can not be turned on until Lenovo engineers create a new bios which it seems they are not doing.

As it stands, the official response is that the IdeaPad line of notebooks do not support Intel VT. This was more than likely done to distinguish between business [ThinkPad] and multimedia [IdeaPad] oriented notebooks.

Maybe I can help you. I have recently added VT support in MSI GX600 BIOS. You can get more info about that here http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=379144

And if you want me to solve your problem then tell me the type of your BIOS first. To do that you have to enter in BIOS setup and then post here the full header of setup window. Also write CPU index and the model of laptop (for example: Lenovo Y550, P8400).

First of all I have to know the type of Lenovo Y550 BIOS (see my previous message).

Y450 BIOS supports Intel VT, but your CPU (T6400) don't. If you replace CPU with new one that supports virtualization - then you'll get Intel VT enabled on your laptop.

Can anybody tell me the type of Y550 BIOS?
