Is anyone using Windows XP 64-bit on the Y550?
I want to make sure that there are drivers for the hardware supporting XP 64-bit before doing this.
On the Lenovo site, there are only drivers that say "XP" and not "XP 64-bit."
Thank you.

I'm sure you'll be able to find drivers for XP x64. Lenovo doesn't support XP x64 but most of the drivers will be available. You will most likely not find drivers for Lenovo proprietary hardware [such as power management drivers or Lenovo proprietary software].
The chipset, graphics, wireless, ethernet drivers can be found at intel.com
The audio driver can be found at realtek.com
The touchpad driver can be found at synaptics.com
You will have to post the hardware ID for any other devices.

What exactly is the hardware ID for the other devices?

You can get the hardware ID from the Device Manager.
Start>Run>Type in "devmgmt.msc" and click OK
Double-click on the device. Go to the "Details" tab. Select "hardware Ids" from the drop-down box.
This will be needed to find the proper driver for any additional devices.

My Graphics card, the Nvidia GeForce GT 240M, does not seem to have a x64 xp driver on the Nvidia site. It doesn't even seem to be on the supported list. Where can I find this certain driver for x64 xp?

Success!
Many hours later, I got all the drivers and Windows XP Pro 64-bit is working perfectly.
Thank you for your help.

I hav Y530 and installed XP 64 bit, but drivers (NVIDIA, ACPI etc..) is not getting installed. Also I downloaded XP drivers from lenovo site but no success. I appreciate if you show me the way to get drivers which are not running on XP 64 bit.
