Y560 Car Adapter available?

[ Edited ]

Hey, sorry if this has been asked before. I'm new here and searched the forum best i could, no results yielded. I just purchased a Lenovo Ideapad Y560 a few days ago from Newegg. I am very pleased with it by the way so far.

I wanted to ask though if there is a car charger for this y560. I have a Toshiba Satellite L505 car adapter which doesn't work (i assume the Lenovo uses too much power). I've searched google and Lenovo's site, but have been unable to find any results.

I'd like to buy one (as long as it doesn't cost too much, like around $30 at the most). I travel a lot and want to use it while on the road (and yes i'm a passenger, don't worry lol). I'd appreciate if anyone can find a link for one that would be compatible with my Y560. I don't care which brand it is, as long as it functions properly. I hope there is one that will work, i've not found any listings for any at least. I guess it's just a matter of finding the right voltage or whatever.

This is the kind of car charger i'm after (this one won't work with my new Lenovo though i assume, since it doesn't list the Y series, just giving and example in case)-

I guess i need one that's 120watts (or 19.5volts, whatever), i think that's what the wall charger says. Thanks in advance, hope there are some because i want one.

found y550-y650  & y510-y530 on ebay.

check power specifications first ( voltage, input, watt, amp ), if they match, you may use one of them.

Re: Y560 Car Adapter available?

Doesn't look like any of those will work properly. My wall adapter's label says 120W and 19.5V. None of the ones you linked to me go that high. I assume i need more power.

I'll also tell you my specs, as they are rather demanding on the power-

-Core i7 Q740 1.73ghz (turbo boost up to around 2.9ghz)

-6GB DDR3 memory

-Radeon 5730 1GB

In case that matters anyways.

Re: Y560 Car Adapter available?

Trust me from experience;

Do not bother purchasing a separate power adapter. Instead, purchase a power inverter of at least 200 watts. It'll plug into your cigarette outlet, and will give you a power outlet on it. It'll also be much cheaper that way. Not sure what you have in the US, but something along this line will be more than adequate, and offer you an additional outlet for a cell phone charger or printer or something.

One thing to note. Power inverters are rated in peak power. This one for instance does 400W peak, but delivers 320W continuous. If you got a 150W or 200W inverter, you're cutting it a bit close IMO. Plus, we're talking about a $10 difference.

I have done many roadtrips, and have used these to power my laptop and camcorder.
