Y560p - Change Graphics Card

Forgive my naivety if this is impossible.

The ideapad y560p comes with a dedicated ATI HD6570 graphics card.  I am wanting to upgrade to a newer nvidia mobile card.  I've already replaced the ram in my system (upgraded from 4gb to 8gb), so I'm familiar with opening my laptop.  I am also very familiar with building / upgrading desktop PCs.

Will this be terribly difficult to do in a laptop?  If not, what do I need to know? Dimensions for my current graphics card, Power Usage, compatibility?

Re: Y560p - Change Graphics Card

Hi Jidus,

bad news... :smileyfrustrated:

the HD6570M graphics chip is soldered to the main-board therefore it's not possible to upgrade to another chip...

I'm sorry... Zehn

Re: Y560p - Change Graphics Card

Sure, you can use nVidia graphics card with your laptop, just as I did:
