Y570 - CPU weird behavior

Hi all.

Another problem with my laptop. My i7 is behaving weird. Core 1 and 2 are going weird. Don't know how to really describe it so here's a pic: http://prntscr.com/9f4yp

My windows is updated fully.

What does the Task Manager-Performance tab show ?

And what's wrong with its behaviour? AFAIK Windows doesn't distrubute tasks between cores equally, unless your cpu is under heavy load. Also it tends to load "real" cores, that's why even "hypertreading" cores aren't loaded. So, if your first and third CPU are loaded up to 100% and other six are almost not loaded, that'd be strange, and what you described is IMO normal behaviour.

If you mean that CPU load increases and drops frequently, then you should just find the task which is causing it, it is not CPU's fault at all.

Thanks for answer, but i have another question about cpu. Sometimes core 1 goes up to 100% and it won't drop down. Laptop stats freezing until it completely freezes. NO heavy programs opened, not even chrome. It happenssame if I play gta iv or doing nothing. To turn it off, only option is to pulll out battery/power.

Throttling of the CPU cores is normal. From time to time I notice my i5 does the same thing. Core 1 is used while Core 2 is not and Core 3 is and Core 4 is not.

I too have also noticed when one of the cores reaches 100% it is slow til whatever process is doing it finishes.

My PC is custom built and not Lenovo so I think it would be safe to say its normal. Not a driver or program issue.
