Y570: Missing driver when reinstalling Windows 7

Hi all,

I'm trying to reinstall Windows 7 on my newly acquired Y570 IdeaPad following the guidelines of http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/uk/en/HintsandTips/ShowDoc.aspx?ID=12870415982811, including executing the RapidDriveTool (which reports success). But when I reboot and boot from my Windows Installation USB Stick, I get stuck during setup. It asks me to install a driver because it can't find any drives. Trying to install any drivers of the driver folder in the lenovo support partition doesn't help, and switching to SATA compatible mode in BIOS doesn't help either. This scenario isn't covered by the article, so what am I doing wrong?

Regards,

Hannes

Re: Y570: Missing driver when reinstalling Windows 7

Yes, as I said I tried installing any Chipset drivers I found in the Driver folder of the support partition. Setup installs the drivers but says that no additional devices were found so I still cannot choose any install target partition.

Ironically, I tried using another installation medium I had available just to be sure, and here it works. Seems like the original medium was erroneous. Anyway, I'm through now. Thanks for your support.
